It’s far out — however, we can still predict it. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has posted a General Severe Weather Risk for Saturday. Models are currently in near agreement with a possible widespread outbreak over Texas and into Oklahoma Friday thanks to a Surface Low developing around Kansas and Nebraska. Southerly Level Winds will create moisture around OK/KS on Friday and Saturday. This in combination Steep Midlevel Lapse rates will result in Moderately to Strong instability across the Central and Northern Plains. The strongest storms are expected to be Saturday with the main Severe Weather Threat across Kansas into Southern Iowa.
