HERE COMES THE WARMTH: Temperatures are heading upwards again across the state and region with Sunday being the warmest of the year in many places. Some locations in western Iowa may reach 90° for the first time since last summer. Most everywhere else will see 80s. There is an outside chance of a shower or storm across the eastern 2/3rds of the state later today, similar to what happened in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa yesterday afternoon with some thunderstorms producing large hail. These storms, if they fire aren’t expected to last long and will dissipate after sunset.
EARLY WEEK STORM: The next system moves in Monday into Tuesday with some shower and thunderstorm activity. It doesn’t look like any severe weather will accompany this system at this time, but this may change. Some decent amounts of rain between a tenth and a half inch are possible with isolated heavier totals in thunderstorms. Temperatures take a temporary dive into the 50s and 60s next week with a slow rebound toward the Easter Weekend.
EASTER WEEKEND: Easter weekend looks to be half and half right now. A possible storm system will come through late Friday through the day on Saturday. Some early showers are possible Sunday morning for Easter Services with some clearing from west to east later in the day. Temperatures look to be at or slightly above average but this could change depending on the amount of clouds and rainfall with the storm.
