PESKY DEPARTURE: The slow moving pesky storm system will finally make its way out of the state later today taking with it the scattered showers and isolated rumble of thunder or two. There still is a chance of rain today mainly over the eastern 2/3rds of the state. Rainfall will be light and scattered with many areas seeing less than a quarter inch. The weekend looks dry and continued warm with readings back into the 70s by Sunday.

WARMTH RETURNS: It never really left, but the warm temperatures of the 70s to near 80 will return to the state early next week, however along with the warm weather will come the next storm late Monday and especially on Tuesday with some scattered showers and thunderstorms. Severe weather is possible but it’s too early to determine where the severe weather could be. Some model runs differ on strength and positioning of the storm at this time. We may have something on this by the weekend.

STORMY APRIL: GFS continues to show April as becoming more active for showers, storms and possibly severe weather. Several systems on the run look promising for some severe weather, but again it’s way too early to determine that. Even into April, the warmer than average temperatures look to continue as well.
