MAYLIKE MARCH: Record Highs are possible for the next several days across the state with the Maylike weather continuing. There is a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm from Wednesday on, but the chances are 20% or less, and not everyone will see a shower everyday. The chances increase Saturday to about 30-50% crack with a storm system moving in.

TROUGH RIDGE: The storm that will move in for St. Patrick’s Day weekend is expected to stall due to a ridge of high pressure over the southeastern states that will keep many of the storm systems from progressing to the east. This will be a good thing for those that desperately need the rainfall in northwestern Iowa where moderate to severe drought remains. With the lack of snowfall this past winter, the ground is in need of some moisture in those areas and this could help in that department.

MARCHING ALONG: Even farther into the month, there’s no signs of colder weather or even weather that is typical of March. What may come early this year along with the warm temperatures is the spring allergy season. Those that suffer with allergies aren’t looking forward to that I’m sure.
