NEEDED RAIN: Several Brush fires have occurred over the last 24 hours and some much needed rain will be moving in later today from the south and southwest. However the rainfall will be light with a quarter inch of rain possible with this system with some areas getting up to a half inch. The rain will move off Monday morning leaving behind not cooler air, but more warmth for the rest of the coming week.

MAYLIKE MARCH: The week will see temperatures climb into the 60s and 70s across the state. The model has been showing some precipitation Wednesday through the following weekend. This could be in the form of a popcorn shower or storm, typical of what you might see in the latter half of Spring or Summer, but not March. Chances of anybody getting any precip Wednesday through Friday will be less than 20%. By Saturday a storm system will be close enough to bring that chance up to 30% or so.

WARMTH CONTINUES: Even farther into the month, there’s no signs of any cold air infiltrating the state at this time. Readings will stay well above average for March, through the next two weeks. Several storms are also seen that may bring some severe weather or two, but it’s too early to determine that at this time.
