HALF A WEEKEND: Today will be a great day to get out and do something with temperatures climbing back into the 60s. You’d want to do something today, because Sunday will see a chance of some showers and isolated thunderstorms returning to the state. Rainfall amounts will be around a quarter of an inch statewide, although isolated heavier totals can’t be ruled out.
THE BIG WARMUP: Following the system on Sunday into early Monday, readings will really climb. Temperatures in the 70s will be fairly common across a large section of the state. Tuesday through Friday. There is a very slight chance at a shower on Wednesday, but most locales will stay dry. It won’t be until the next storm on St. Patrick’s Day next Saturday where we could get the first real big severe weather threat of the year. More model runs will have to come in to give us a better look at this system, but as of now, this could be the first outbreak of the year in our area.
FARTHER OUT: The storm on St. Patrick’s Day may begin a string of storms criss-crossing the region. At least two more storms are on this current run after the storm next Saturday. Temperatures throughout the run look to remain above average with no cold intrusions found.
