NOT AS WARM: Temperatures will not be as warm as they were yesterday when readings climbed into the 60s and 70s. Today will see a storm system move in with some showers and isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures behind the system will only drop into the 40s and 50s for highs, which will be about 10-15° above the seasonal average for this time of year.
REMAINING WARM: Looking even farther out through this coming weekend and into next week, temperatures don’t look to get cooler anytime soon. There will be a slight chance of a shower especially over the southeastern half of the state on Sunday otherwise it looks to remain mostly dry through the middle of next week.
MARCH STORMS: Even farther out into the model run, there are some storm systems that are likely to bring some shower and thunderstorm activity. This will be greatly needed across the northwestern counties that are still experiencing moderate to severe drought. With the models showing no cold intrusions and lack of any snow coming, the ground will start to need some moisture relatively soon in those areas.
