BRUSHED BY PRECIP: The system moving through today will only effect the southeastern half of the state with any measurable precipitation. There could be some flurries or light drizzle across the northwestern half but nothing that will amount to much more than a trace. The southeastern half will see mainly some rain or a wintry mix. With temperatures above freezing there is likely to be no travel difficulties to start out with but still take it easy.

SEASONAL: Temperatures are going to remain in the 30s to lower 40s for highs across the state even behind this system. This will melt more of the snow that has fallen over the last few weeks. This will also lead to some fog possible on some mornings especially across the western counties where a lot more snow remains. The next system will brush past us Saturday with some clouds and maybe a flurry or two, but even after that readings remain near seasonal norms.

THE BIG ONE: February 26th is going to be one to watch. Yesterday we mentioned a storm system that could effect the area with VERY significant snow. Today it’s back and it’s meaner than ever. The differences between today and yesterday are as follows: The Low is about 100 miles further south and is slightly stronger and the precip misses the far northern and northwestern counties. It’s still too far out there to say for sure that this storm is on the way, stay tuned!
