COLD WEEKEND: Cold arctic weather in store for the state this weekend. Temperatures will be at least 10° below seasonal norms for highs and lows. Wind Chills will easily get below zero with a little breeze both this morning and Sunday morning.

MONDAY SNOW: A disturbance moves in Monday bringing some light snow to the state. At this time it looks as if 1-2″ of snow is possible across the state with the heaviest accumulations south of US Hwy 30. Following this system temperatures will be seasonal for the rest of the week.

SNOW SNOW SNOW: Once it snows, it just won’t stop and that will be the case through the rest of the month. Beginning with next Wednesday, a system will skirt the state with some light snow activity on that day. Too early to determine any snow amounts with that system but it looks to be light at this time. Then a week from Monday (20th) a system may bring some rain and snow to the state. Two days later another system (much stronger than the first) could bring heavier precipitation. Temperatures will begin to rise significantly with warmer air moving in. As a reminder, everything from a week out and longer is considered voo-doo, but it has been shown that the last half of February is going to be more active and with several storms on the run, we could see some precipitation whether it’s in the form of rain, snow or a combination of both is yet up in the air at this time.
