RELATIVELY QUIET: A few flurries or light snow showers will dot the sky today, but won’t amount to a lot. This will be the main weather story this week along with the seasonally cool temperatures. Readings will be in the 20s and 30s for highs with lows in the teens, typical of February.

MORE ACTIVE: Models are trending slightly more active toward the middle to end of the month, with a few chances of some precipitation but it’s still too far out to pinpoint any one storm, type of precip or when it’ll effect the state. As of now there doesn’t look to be any big arctic outbreaks coming down, one thing helping us out with that is lack of snow cover here and to our north and northwest (outside western into central Iowa)
