CALM TRANQUIL: Little if any weather issues to report this week. A few flurries or light snow showers on Tuesday is all that will effect the state this week. The snow on Tuesday will be very light with a dusting to a few tenths of an inch possible, nothing to write home about. Temperatures today will be above average but will settle to seasonal levels for the rest of the week, 30s for highs lows in the teens to lower 20s.

INTERESTING LATTER HALF: The month has a few more issues that are yet unresolved given the amount of time between now and then. This run shows a few minor systems that may bring some wintry precipitation to the state, but as of now the amounts look to be light given the lack of a return flow from the Gulf of Mexico. Cold air will still be in place with a possible clipper system in two weeks time, but nothing overly arctic given the lack of snow cover (outside central into western and southwestern Iowa where snow is on the ground)
