BECOMING QUIETER: After some places saw 5-10+” of snow Friday night into Saturday, the state will be in for some quieter and cooler, but seasonal weather over teh next week. Today and Monday however will see some sunshine (more during afternoon) with readings climbing back into the 40s across the east, (cooler in snowpack areas) It’s late Monday into Tuesday when cold air from Canada sweeps in bringing more February temps to the state but given the lack of snow especially across northern and eastern Iowa, this will just be temps in the 30s for highs and lows a few degrees either side of 20.
NO BIG STORMS: Further along weak disturbances seem to be the rule at least with this run. There is a noticeable lack of precipitation across the area over the next two weeks and given that NW Iowa is still in Moderate to Severe Drought, that is not a good thing.
