QUIET FOR NOW: The week will be a far cry from the last several which have had active, snowy weather across the state. Readings will remain in the 20s and 30s for highs through the week with only a slight chance of some flurries or light snow showers on Friday.

AHEAD TO FEB: February continues to look more active and perhaps a bit cooler. Model still shows a possible cold blast around the beginning of the month, but again the suspected storm around Groundhog Day has disappeared once again, being replaced by a two pronged system, one from the northwest and one running along the Gulf Coast that will merge east of the state and bring the heaviest precipitation to those areas.
