CAUCUS NIGHT: There will be no problems weatherwise regarding the 2012 Iowa Caucuses. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy with readings in the mid 20s to mid 30s across the state. It will be a bit breezy out of the southwest, but nothing compared to the wind event of the last two days.

DRY AGAIN: It will remain dry through the week into the weekend with little chance of any precipitation. Temperatures begin a slow rise to the 40s by Thursday and Friday, after beginning in the single digits this morning. A cold front will move through for the weekend dropping the temperatures back into the 30s for highs and lows around 20°, but no snow will accompany the front as of now.

ACTIVE MID MONTH: The model run does bring some more active weather to the state around the middle of the month with several pieces of energy, both of which will be coming out of the Desert Southwest. Along with another cold blast, there could be some significant snow on the 11th and again a week later on the 18th. In any case if we get a snow cover we’ll not see temperatures climb into the 40s to near 50 again anytime soon.
