The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory effective through the morning hours tomorrow for the following counites, Mitchell, Howard, Winneshiek, Allamakee, Floyd, Chickasaw, Fayette, Clayton, Winnebago, Worth and Cerro Gordo.

Some light precipitation is currently moving through the far northern and northeastern counties of the state. Some of this will fall in the form of freezing rain or sleet early and will transition to some light snow toward sunrise. About a tenth of an inch of ice will be possible in the advisory area, along with about 1-2 inches of snow. Travel will become difficult during this time. Be sure to drive carefully if you’re going to be out through the morning hours.
