BACK TO SEASONAL: The days of well above average temperatures has come to an end. A return to more seasonal readings is in the cards for the rest of the week into the weekend. Temperatures will remain in the 30s to near 40° with partly to mostly sunny skies. Winds will remain brisk today with temperatures holding steady or slowly falling throughout the daytime hours. Lows will be in the teens and lower 20s.

STORM EARLY WEEK: The GFS continues to show the storm early next week mainly staying just to the south and southeast of the state. It may clip the southeastern sections with some rain or a rain snow mix. However other models differ, the 12z GEM model from yesterday shows that a large section of the state may get some precipitation, mainly in the form of rain with some snow possible as it departs Tuesday. 12z ECMWF shows the low a little further northwest than the GEM. So as of now, it’s too early to determine possible rain and or snow amounts at this time.

CHRISTMAS: If above storm doesn’t drop the beloved white stuff on the state, then there’s a really good chance any place in the state that has no snow on the ground now, will not have snow on Christmas. It’s looking to be seasonal with highs in the middle to upper 20s with mainly sunny skies overhead.
