WARMING UP: It will be a very cold day today across the state after starting off in the single digits either side of zero. Winds will switch to the southwest later today bringing warmer and more manageable readings to the area. Tomorrow will see readings in the 30s to lower 40s across the state. This continues into next week as well, however some moisture will filter in Monday with a disturbance. This may get off a few sprinkles or drizzle that may freeze during the overnight hours into Tuesday morning. There’s a better chance of some rain perhaps mixed with some sleet Tuesday dependent on temperatures.

NEXT STORM: The storm in question comes in late Wednesday night into Thursday with a decent shot at some showers. Some of the precipitation may mix with and change over to some snow before ending. Accumulations will be light if any, with a dusting being the likely scenario. Colder air returns into next weekend with highs back into the 20s and lows in the single digits and teens.

FIRST LOOK: The model is now extended out to Christmas and right now the model shows a wintry system over us that may drop some snow across the state. There may even be another system a few days later that on the run is located in the Inter-mountain West on Christmas, but again this is over two weeks out and is likely to change on the model runs between now and the holiday weekend. Stay tuned.
