THE STORM: The next storm system will have our full attention over the next few days as this will bring a lot of moisture into the state beginning late Monday through Wednesday. Rainfall amounts with this system continue to remain impressive with 1-3″ possible with some isolated heavier amounts. This would certainly end any drought across the state even though the growing season has long since ended. Some of the precipitation may mix with some snow or sleet Wednesday morning before ending. Accumulation is not likely given the ground temperatures remaining above freezing, although some grassy areas may be white for a brief period. Road conditions should not be a problem outside bridges and overpasses.

NEXT STORM: After the storm moves on Wednesday afternoon, skies will clear and it should remain dry through the rest of the week into next weekend. Southerly winds will begin to take hold by Friday and especially Saturday and Sunday with the next storm coming in from the south and west. That storm will effect the state late Sunday into Monday (13-14th), with some rain and likely some snow as well, but it’s on the edge of voo-doo and we still have to get through this coming storm before putting emphasis on that one.
