WEEKEND OF WIND: It will be a very breezy weekend across the state. Wind Advisories have been issued across the northwestern counties where winds may gust over 40 to at times 50mph. The storm system that is bringing all this wind to the state will move to our north during the day Sunday sweeping a cold front across the state. This may trigger a very isolated shower, but the chances are less than 20% at best. Temperatures will be above average with readings well into the 60s across the state with some areas possibly even touching 70, especially today across the west.

BIG WET STORM: The next storm will organize over the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle and move to the northeast on Monday. Rain will begin across the southern counties of the state Monday evening and continue through Wednesday. Some of the precipitation may mix with some wet snowflakes especially Wednesday. Rainfall amounts could be quite heavy with 1-3″ possible with some isolated heavier totals. Given the ground temperatures remaining well above freezing, any snow mix that may fall isn’t expected to accumulate (outside of some grassy areas for a brief time) The storm system will quickly depart late Wednesday night with some dry conditions lasting into the following weekend, when the next storm will move in with more precip and another shot of some colder air.
