NO CHANGES: This run shows not many changes to the forecast from yesterday. A hard freeze is expected across the state on Friday morning (especially the eastern half of the state), with moderating temperatures thereafter through early next week. There is a slight chance of a stray shower Sunday, with better chances coming Tuesday with a cold front moving in with another shot of cold air from Canada.

SECOND PLUNGE: The second plunge of cold air from Canada will come Tuesday into Wednesday of next week. All indications are that this cold wave will be more severe than the one this week, with readings possibly dropping into the lower 20s for lows (if not lower) and highs possibly not even making it out of the 30s. Temperatures look to modify once more over the rest of the week, with dry conditions setting up across the area.
