The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning from 1am until 9am Friday morning for the following counties, Appanoose, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Grundy, Hardin, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Story, Tama, Wapello, Warren, Wayne, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Winneshiek, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Henry, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Lee, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington.

Clear skies and light winds will lead to freeze conditions across the eastern half of the state Friday morning. Temperatures will likely fall into the 20s to near 30 in these areas, with some areas possibly dropping into the lower 20s. This will effectively kill any unprotected vegetation outdoors. Protect or bring indoors any sensitive plants.
