MORE RAIN: There is a slight chance of rain today across the eastern counties of the state. Temperatures will be held down to the 60s to lower 70s. There will be a better chance of rain tomorrow with another system quickly moving through. Rainfall from these two storms will range from a tenth of an inch over the western counties to three quarters of an inch. Skies will clear Thursday and temperatures will return to seasonal levels (the 60s to near 70), with lows in the upper 30s to 40s for the next few days.

COLD SNAP?: This latest model run shows a storm system early next week which may bring the first real hard freeze for much of the state. The 540 line dives well into Kansas and Missouri which is likely to bring low temperatures possibly down well into the 20s. There is also a slight chance that a few flurries could be possible, but it’s hard to determine that at this time.

FARTHER OUT: Model shows a more seasonal look toward the end of the run after the cold snap mentioned above. A system or two may bring the state some chance of rainfall, but nothing overly heavy at this time.
