RAIN CHANCES: There looks to be some chances of rain across the state over the next few days. However today, most of the rain looks to remain just to the west of the state, that doesn’t mean a stray shower could move into western Iowa, the chances just aren’t that great. Rain moves over western Iowa Monday and Eastern Iowa Tuesday. Another disturbance moves in Wednesday into early Thursday with some rain chances then as well.

GETTING ACTIVE: The weather pattern still looks to get more active that it has been lately across the area, with the jet stream overhead. Disturbances every few days over the next two weeks will bring repeated chances of some shower and thunderstorm activity. This will help in the drought, but farmers need some dry weather for harvesting crops (although too dry can and has led to some field fires started from farm equipment). A possible cold snap comes in about two weeks that may bring snow flurries as close as Central Wisconsin.
