DRY WEATHER: It’ll become a broken record with continued dry weather through the upcoming weekend when a frontal system will begin to ease into the state with a threat of showers and isolated thunderstorms at that time. There is a slight chance of rain however Thursday across NW Iowa with the same system as well.

CONTINUED WARM: Temperatures are expected to remain well above average for the early to middle of October with highs generally in the 70s to lower 80s. However some readings may end up warmer due to lower dew points and strong south to southwesterly winds over the next few days. Fire Danger will remain very high across a large section of the state due to this and the dry conditions across the state.

STORMS: The weather pattern gets a bit more active after the storm moves off this coming weekend. Another storm is possible toward middle to end of next week with then another more powerful storm moving in around the 19th that could produce some widespread rainfall across the state at that time.
