DRY WEEK: It will remain dry for at least the upcoming week as high pressure ridge will set up across the area. Temperatures will slowly rise throughout the week with readings likely in the mid to upper 70s to lower and possibly mid 80s across the western counties by weeks end. Skies will remain mostly sunny with only a few afternoon clouds possible.

NEXT STORM SYSTEM: The next storm will move in this weekend with a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms. The best chance for this will be over the western counties before the front begins to dissolve late Sunday into Monday. This will be a good week for the farmers to go out and harvest their crops, but drought conditions won’t approve any and even after this storm this weekend, the chances of rain over the moderate to severe drought areas of central into SE Iowa don’t look promising heading into the middle of October.
