All of Iowa, Book Review

Reading Rainbow: One Week in June

Another Flood of 2008 Book written by Jeff Stein, a professor at Wartburg College in Waverly. This one takes us on a day by day basis and not just in one community (similar to other books). We see pictures of the flooding and the damage left behind all along the Cedar River (which this books mainly covers) from Charles City all the way to where it flows into the Iowa River near Columbus Junction. It also looks at the Iowa River around the Iowa City and Coralville area on downstream as well.

It was a bit pricey, but it was well worth it as it is similar to Epic Surge (from KCRG and the Gazette) and Un-Natural Disasters (from KWWL, Terry Swails and his wife Carolyn Wettstone with regards to the pictures and the stories that are briefly told as the days go by and the destruction of the flood moves downstream.
