DRY WEEK AHEAD: Outside of a few showers possible late tonight into Tuesday morning and again Wednesday across western Iowa, the state will be rather dry at least until Next Monday. Temperatures today will be rather summery with highs in the mid to upper 80s with a few locations possibly making it to or above 90°. This will be short lived as a cold front moves through the state during the overnight hours Monday into Tuesday. This may bring a sprinkle or a shower but any measurable rain will be isolated at best. Wednesday will see some chances of a shower across the western counties, but again any rainfall amounts will be very light and confined to west of Interstate 35.

COLD PUSH: Colder air will move into the state by mid-week. Lows Thursday morning will be in the mid to upper 30s across the northeastern counties of the state, while the rest of the state will see low to mid 40s. Upper 30s will be possible again in the colder locales Friday morning before temperatures begin to rebound for the upcoming weekend. Highs during this time will be in the 60s.

NEXT RAIN CHANCE: The next chance of widespread rain looks to be holding off for at least another week. Another frontal system will be moving into the state next Monday that may spark a better chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms. Any rain at this time will be needed and wanted because further into the month the pattern looks to be dry across the state once more.
