COLD PUSH: Big changes will occur next week as we head toward the middle of September. Temperatures to begin the week will be in the upper 70s to mid 80s for highs. By Tuesday a cold front will move through the state which may spark a shower at that time. Another frontal system is expected Wednesday with a much stronger push of colder air. Some of the coldest air since the Spring. Lows Thursday and Friday morning will be in the mid to upper 30s especially in the northeastern half of the state while lower 40s will be elsewhere. Some areas in far northeast Iowa may have some light frost especially in the river valleys and other cooler locales. Highs during this time will be in the 60s. Temperatures will begin to rebound toward the following weekend and into the next week.
