The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 11am this morning for the following counties, Bremer, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Emmet, Franklin, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Winnebago, Worth, Wright, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek. Thunderstorms have been moving through the northwestern sections of the state through the morning hours with numerous severe weather warnings including one TORNADO Warning. These storms will be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds. The storms should begin to weaken toward the mid-morning hours.
