TRIPLE H: The next two days will see an old friend return to the state. Hazy, Hot and Humid conditions with temperatures well into the 90s. Some places may hit 100° if conditions are right. Heat Indices will easily surpass 100° in some areas. The heat will be broken with some showers and thunderstorms Friday night as a cold front will move into the state from the northwest. Some isolated storms could be possible late tonight across far NW Iowa. This may effect High School Football games across the state (mainly the southeastern 2/3rds of the state.)

LABOR DAY WEEKEND: The weekend will start with some isolated chances of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, mainly early )possibly effecting tailgating in Iowa City and then again late (mainly over the southeastern half of the state so no threat to the Iowa State UNI game in Ames), after that the rest of the weekend looks superb with temperatures falling into the 70s for highs and lows in the 50s. This will continue into next week as well.

QUIET MONTH: As we move further into the month of September, High Pressure looks to remain across the region with the main storm track well to the north. Temperatures look to remain seasonal with highs in the 70s to lower 80s and lows in the 50s to lower 60s. The next chance of rain looks to move in around the middle of the month, otherwise it looks to remain dry for several days into the month of September.
