HEAT RETURNING: A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will dot the state today with temperatures remaining in the lower to middle 70s as a result of the cloudiness. Rainfall amounts from these showers is expected to be light, with a quarter inch or less possible. The heat follows Wednesday through Friday with temperatures climbing back into the upper 80s to middle 90s with dew points approaching 70 once more. This could bring heat indices to near 100°. A cold front will move through late on Friday into early Saturday that may spark a shower or storm that could effect some high school football games.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND: The weekend outside of a few early day showers Saturday morning looks pleasant with mostly sunny skies all weekend and highs cooling off back into the 70s to near 80 with lowering dew points. A perfect weekend to end the summer season.

MID MONTH: Still looks rather dry as we move further in the future with no real frontal systems or disturbances across the midwest. Some possible showers could skim the state around the 10th and 11th, otherwise it looks rather dry. A more detailed outlook will come as we move closer to the dates in question.
