The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 2pm this afternoon for the following counties, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Ida, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux, Woodbury, Audubon, Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie, Hamilton, Humboldt, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Sac and Webster. Thunderstorms are currently over southeastern South Dakota and northeastern Nebraska. The main threats with these storms will be from large hail and damaging winds. The threat will likely stay west of Interstate 35.
