The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 8am this morning for the following counties, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Franklin, Grundy, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Humboldt, Marshall, Story, Tama, Webster, Winnebago, Worth, Wright, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Winneshiek, Benton, Buchanan, Delaware and Linn. Strong to severe thunderstorms continue over NC Iowa early this morning with wind gusts over 60-70mph. These storms will move E/SE through the morning hours with damaging winds being the main threats. The severe threat should move out of the state by mid-morning with more severe weather possible later this afternoon and tonight.
