RAIN CHANCES THIS WEEK: There will be ample chances of some showers and thunderstorm activity. The first chance comes later today across the western part of the state. This will continue Tuesday and Wednesday as the storm system moves to the east. Rainfall amounts have come down with mainly a quarter to an inch of rain possible from these storms. Some areas may receive heavier totals. The next shot then comes on Saturday into early Sunday of the upcoming weekend. Temperatures will remain a few degrees either side of 80 throughout the week.

FARTHER OUT: A refreshing shot of cooler air is possible toward the end of next week as a high pressure comes in from Canada. However toward the end of the month a ridge develops over the southwest and will begin to influence the weather in our area by that time. The GFS Model also shows a possible significant tropical feature just off the Atlantic Coast over the last week of August. This could effect the weather here by slowing the flow by a day or two, but its too early to determine tropical features this far out.

NOTES: Weekly Weather Forecasts will continue through Labor Day Weekend whereas Football Forecasts will begin (actually beginning this WEEK! with the start of High School Football!)
