PERFECTION: Today will be perfection in weather terms, mainly sunny skies with a few afternoon clouds and highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s and absolute great day to be heading to the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.

WEEK AHEAD: The wonderful weather continues into next week with sunshine across the state on Monday, however some increasing clouds and possible showers and thunderstorms will move in to the western part of the state late Monday afternoon and evening. This will also be the case Tuesday through early Wednesday as well. Another quick moving storm moves in again Friday into Saturday with another round of showers and thunderstorms at that time as well. Temperatures will remain near seasonal levels for the week.

END OF MONTH: Model continues to show a ridge over the area toward the end of the month, albeit not as strong as previous runs. However it does show that precipitation may be hard to come by across the state towards the end of the month which won’t be a good sign given the abnormally dry conditions especially over southern Iowa.
