QUIET SUNDAY: It will be quiet and mostly sunny across the state today, outside of a few early morning showers and storms that should be out by mid-morning. Temperatures will be in the lower to middle 80s across the state with partly to mostly sunny skies.

SEVERE RETURNS: The return of severe weather for Monday with a slight risk of severe weather across the western half of the state mainly west of Interstate 35. The main threats will be from large hail and damaging winds. These storms will last until early Tuesday when slightly cooler conditions will prevail with highs dropping into the upper 70s to near 80 by mid-week. More chances of showers and storms for the first day of State Fair on Thursday with highs heading back into the lower 80s.

NW FLOW: Out in voo-doo the northwesterly flow aloft is still with us on this run. With a ridge over the Desert Southwest and a trough over the northeast, we may see quick moving frontal systems with showers and storms and also shots of some cooler air from Canada. Highs could be in the 70s to near 80 with dewpoints possibly down into the 50s! A welcome change for many!!!

EMILY: Emily has reformed over the northern Bahamas as a Tropical Depression. It may regain tropical storm strength but it is expected to turn to the northeast and miss the US east coast.
