DRY SUNNY WEEKEND: An almost perfect summer weekend in store for the state this weekend. Almost no chances of showers and thunderstorms during this time and temperatures in the mid to upper 80s with humid conditions but not unbearable. This will not effect the RAGBRAI riders as they complete their journey between Coralville and Davenport.

NEXT RAIN: The next shot at rain will move in late Tuesday into Wednesday with a frontal boundary moving in from the northwest. It’s too early to determine if severe weather is possible with this system, but rainfall amounts of around a half to three quarters of an inch are possible given the latest QPF charts. There is also a chance again on Thursday as well.

ACTIVE AUGUST: Heading into voo-doo the jet stream begins its march back south, along with that, there could be some fast moving systems passing through the second week of August that may bring some quick shots at cooler conditions along with some showers and storms as well. This could change on the next run, but it shows that there is less liklihood of more heat waves in coming weeks.
