WXALERT: Watch Possible for Southeastern Iowa

IASWC IOWA CITY BUREAU: The Storm Prediction has posted Mesoscale Discussion #1775, which focuses on a Severe Threat in Southeastern Iowa tonight. Strong to Severe Thunderstorms could increase through the Early Evening with the Primary threats being Large Hail, Damaging Winds, and Perhaps Locally Heavy Rainfall. The need for a Watch is currently Uncertain, But the SPC will currently to Monitor the Situation. A few storms have already formed in that area along a Weak Surface low that is expected to weaken in 30-60 Minutes, but could develop later tonight. Elsewhere, Storms have developed along the Iowa-Nebraska border and are beginning to Strengthen at this Hour. We will continue to monitor this situation throughout the night and post any new updates if needed.
