SHELBY COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST IOWA…

* AT 511 AM CDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS OF 65 MPH OR HIGHER. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 10 MILES WEST OF EARLING TO HARLAN TO WALNUT…AND MOVING NORTHEAST AT 55 MPH. THIS STORM CAUSED A SEMI TO JACKNIFE NEAR SHELBY AT 508 AM

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE…EARLING…DEFIANCE…IRWIN…ELK HORN…PRAIRIE ROSE STATE PARK…KIRKMAN AND ELK HORN CREEK RECREATION AREA.

THE WARNED AREA INCLUDES INTERSTATE 80 IN IOWA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 40 AND 48.

THE WARNED AREA INCLUDES HIGHWAY 59 IN IOWA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 73 AND 91.
