The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 8am this morning for the following counties, Adair, Adams, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremeer, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Cerro Gordo, Clarke, Crawford. Dallas, Emmet, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Humboldt, Jasper, Kossuth, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Polk, Poweshiek, Sac, Story, Tama, Union, Warren, Webster, Winnebago, Worth and Wright.

Thunderstorms from Nebraska and some storms across southern Minnesota will be moving through the state through the morning hours. The main threat from these storms will be from damaging winds. Heavy rainfall is possible however flash flooding is not anticipated at this time.
