The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 5am Monday morning for the following counties, Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Clayton, Emmet, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Grundy, Hancock, Howard, Kossuth, Mitchell, Winnebago, Winneshiek and Worth. Thunderstorms over Minnesota are expected to race into the northern and northeastern counties of the state through the overnight hours. The main threat from these storms will be from strong gusty winds. Heavy rain is possible but given the dry ground in many locations, flash flooding is not expected.
