MORE SEVERE WX: There is a slight risk of severe weather for today and tonight across the northwestern sections of the state. This is mainly going to affect areas northwest of a line from Salix to Algona. The main threats will be from large hail and damaging winds and possibly some isolated tornadoes. Remnant storms may drift into the central counties of the state during the overnight hours but they shouldn’t be severe at that time. On Sunday, nearly the entire state outside the south and southeast is under a slight risk of severe weather. The main threats on Sunday will be from large hail and damaging winds. The storm development on Sunday will be isolated and is marginal at best.

REPEAT RAINS: The front that is bringing all this possible severe weather will also be bringing several chances of showers and thunderstorms across the state over the next couple of days. The front is expected to stall over or very close to the state through the middle of next week. With the boundary in the area, there should be ample chances for anyone in the state to receieve some rainfall which is becoming needed in many areas given the lack of rain in some areas over the last two weeks.

MID-SUMMERS HEAT: The heat although making a return this weekend with temperatures climbing to and above the 90° mark, there will also be another heat wave next weekend with another 594mb ridge developing over the center part of the country. This will shift all the moisture to the north and keep the state dry once again. However, this is still on the edge of 7 days and could change, but doesn’t look like it at this time.
