MOSTLY DRY: It will remain mostly dry across the state through at least Sunday, HOWEVER there is a risk of isolated pop up showers across the state until that time. Sunday will be the next day with widespread chances of showers and thunderstorms. Some of these pop up storms the past few days have dropped a lot of rain in some places and almost nothing in others. It depends on how long they last, how fast they’re moving (about at a drift with the storms yesterday) and how big they are. Today may likely see another hodge podge of this once more, but no one location is favorited over another.
RAIN RAIN: Beginning on Sunday, there will be ample chances of seeing showers and thunderstorms as a frontal boundary will move into the state and stall out through the middle of next week at least. There could be a dry period Tuesday if the high pressure to the north gets another force to move the front further to the south, otherwise rain chances will be around 20-30% each day. Temperatures this weekend will warm back to near or above 90 with dewpoints in the 70s, we could see heat indices approaching 100 again. Heat Advisories likely won’t be warranted. Readings will fall back to seasonal levels next week.
HEAT WAVE: The end of this model run shows a large 594mb heat ridge just to the west of the state, with the storm track well to the north. If this was to pan out it could mean another heat wave in two weeks time. We’ll see if this continues to show up on future runs as we near the time when seasonal highs begin their downward trend toward winter.
