Currently this morning there are two mesoscale convective systems moving through the state. One is over the eastern counties moving into Illinois. There has been some gusty winds up to 40mph with this, along with brief heavy rain. The western most one, has had several severe thunderstorm warnings with it for several hours. As of this writing there were no warnings in the state. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect across eastern into SE Iowa until 6am and central into west central Iowa until 10am. There could be some isolated warnings during the morning hours, but it’s looking more and more as a rain and storm event than severe weather at this time.
NOTE: During this time, there will be no posted warnings on the blog, look over at the NWS Twitter feeds on far right for latest warnings, and whatnot.
