A BREAK: There will be a break from the wet pattern we’ve been stuck in for the last few days. It will come later today as most of the precipitation will shift to the east and north of the state by late this afternoon. There could be an isolated shower over the far north but the rest of the state will be dry. The break will only last through Friday before another system brings more chances of showers and thunderstorms during the weekend. However, it won’t be an all day rain. There will be lots of dry time during rounds of showers and storms as they blow through the state.

FLOODING: Flooding is becoming a major issue not only along the Missouri River, but on other rivers as well given the heavy amounts of rain over the last few days across the southern counties. Several rivers are now under river flood warnings because of this. (Look at Cedar Creek near Bussey on the video for a representation of the wide river stages over the few days.) Missouri River will remain steady or slowly rise over the next week, while rivers across the south will rise and then begin falling by this weekend into early next week, however any more rain will prolong concerns in those areas.
