The National Weather Service has expanded the Flash Flood Watch to include a large portion of central Iowa and all of eastern counties of the state through Friday morning. The counties added to the Watch include, Buchanan, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Henry, Jefferson, Lee, Van Buren, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Audubon, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clarke, Crawford, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Greene, Guthrie, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Story, Tama, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren and Wayne. Heavy rain with showers and thunderstorms could cause flash flooding across the area. with amounts of 1-2 inches possible. Some river flooding is also possible later this weekend into next week.
