BATTLEGROUND:The keys words of this forecast video is cool dry air and hot humid air. The battleground over these two air masses will be taking place across the area over the next two weeks. In the short term, some cooler but more importantly drier air has moved into the state with the passage of a cold front that came through mainly dry across the state outside of some storms across the southeastern sections of the state that went severe yesterday afternoon and evening. The front will be making a return appearance later this evening into the overnight hours bringing the hot humid weather back into the state for the beginning of the week. The hot and humid weather will last for several days before the cool dry air tries to make a charge with a storm system that is currently over the west coast of the United States. This will lead to more chances of showers and thunderstorms at that time which unfortunately comes as the weekend arrives, so as of now, next weekend could be wet and stormy with cooler conditions (highs backing down into the upper 70s to lower 80s)

MO RIVER FLOODING: The latest gage readings are on the forecast video. The river is forecast to continue rising with the release of more water from the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton SD. The river will continue rising through the week into the following weekend. The crest is still at least two weeks away at this point barring any abnormal amounts of rain during that time.
