SVR THREATS: There is a slight risk of severe weather for today and tonight across the far eastern counties of the state (namely Clinton, Scott and Jackson), however most of the threat will be across northern Illinois, Wisconsin and east. A new threat area for Wednesday and more likely Wednesday night across the western half of the state where a slight risk is outlooked. This will likely evolve into the MCS overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning with a warm front that will be moving through the state at that time. This will bring the heat that ended the holiday weekend back for several more days.

MORE MORE MORE: You’ll get more more more heat beginning Thursday, after the warm front blows through. Readings will climb back to near 90° across the state Friday and through the following weekend. There will be isolated chances of some popcorn showers and thunderstorms during the weekend, but no widespread activity is likely, nor any widespread severe weather. The heat will begin to wane slightly into the following week.
