WATCH: A Tornado Watch was issued after the video was made for Lee County in SE Iowa until 8am this morning.

SVR WEATHER: There is a slight risk of severe weather for today and tonight across the southeastern sections of the state mainly SE of a Clinton to Lamoni line. All modes of severe weather will be possible with large hail and damaging winds being the main threats. Most of the state will see showers and isolated thunderstorms with cool temperatures in the 60s and lower 70s with stable air.

HOLIDAY WEEKEND: There will be isolated chances of precipitation throughout the holiday weekend, but outdoor plans shouldn’t be derailed. Readings will be in the 80s throughout the weekend with lows a few degrees either side of 60.

JUNE HEAT WAVE?: Out in voodoo, a large 588mb ridge is shown around the 5th of June. This could be the first real heat wave of the summer, if it pans out. This could bring readings statewide well into the 90s, with heat indices over 100, but remember that ridge could disappear on the next run, we’ll keep watching to see if it maintains itself on later runs.
