SEVERE SUNDAY:The is a slight risk of severe weather for today and tonight across the eastern half of the state. The main threats will be from large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. There is an enhanced area of severe weather across the far eastern counties for large hail and tornadoes. We’ll have to see how this will play out with the thunderstorms that occurred during the overnight hours and if they left any boundaries.
HEAVY PRECIP: The QPF chart shows varied amounts of rain over the next five days. From around a half to three quarters of an inch across the far northern tier of counties to near 3 inches across the Iowa Missouri border. This is due to a storm that will skirt the southern sections of the state Tuesday into Wednesday next week. Most of the precip from that storm will be confined to areas south of US Hwy 30.
HAPPY HOLIDAY: With regards to this saying being more for the christmas holiday, the Memorial Day holiday looks to be dry now with the latest run. All three days are now dry with mostly sunny skies and tempertures in the lower to middle 70s for highs. Lows will be a few degrees either side of 50°
